Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, has described the late Chairman of Punch Nigeria Limited, Mr. Gbadebowale Aboderin, as a trailblazer who achieved a lot within the time he lived.

He said this while paying a condolence visit to the Aboderin family at their Onipetesi residence in Lagos, where he was received by the widow, Mrs. Titilayo Aboderin, and other members of the family.

Ajimobi said, “First and foremost, he was my brother because we were from the same place. The fact remains that he lived a short but purposeful life.

“Let us take solace in the fact that he lived an accomplished life as a humanist, a philanthropist, a sports enthusiast, a publisher and an artist. He was a man of so many commendable parts; we will miss him because he was a trailblazer. He was a rising star. We thank God for his life; he accomplished so much within a short time. We will continue to pray for the repose of his soul.”

The governor was accompanied by the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Niyi Olowofela; the Special Adviser on Education, Dr. Bisi Akin-Alabi, and the Special Adviser, Efficiency Unit, Governor’s Office, Dr. Isaac Ayandele, among others.
